Team Valuev confirmed information on this fight with Holyfield

Executive Director purse of Sauerland Event Chris Mayer confirmed that the American boxer Evander Holyfield was made to hold a fight with Nikolai Valuev. According to Mayer, Sauerland Event, which represents the interests of Valuev, has been negotiating with Holyfield, reports Associated Press.

Meyer emphasized that the contract for the fight yet been signed. Sam Holyfield told of the offers made during the night from 8 to 9 November. If the parties reach an agreement, the Valuev fight - Holyfield will be held Dec. 20 in Germany or Switzerland. At stake will be owned by Russian title of world champion version WBA (World Boxing Association).

Valuev won this title on 30 August, defeating outpoint American Johnny Ruiz. The right to fight with the Russian (until the end of June 2009) has the Uzbek boxer Ruslan Chagaev. He was to meet with Valuevym 5 July, 2008, but then the fight was canceled because of the injury Chagaeva. Holyfield, who on October 19 will be 46 years old, last went to the ring 13 Oct, 2007.
