Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko awarded-heavyweight boxer Vitali Klitschko Order of Merit, First Class, RIA Novosti. October 11, Klitschko is back on the professional ring after nearly four years and won the title of world champion version WBC (World Boxing Council), beating Nigerian Samuel Peter.
In the press service Yushchenko said that Klitschko won the awards for outstanding achievements in sport, courage, dedication and will to win approval of Ukraine in the world.
Fight Peter - Klitschko, held in Berlin, lasted 8 of the 12 scheduled rounds. After the eighth round of the Nigerian boxer refused to continue the struggle and was credited technical knockout defeat.
